Default Duplicate files on desktop

I was trying to clean-up my computer and removing duplicate files and trying
to copy files. Somehow while in documents and settings somewhere I copied a
ton of files and moved them. I am not sure what I did or where I put the
files but now whenever I put a file on the desktop I get two of them showing.
If I delete one the other one stays there even though I can no longer access
the file. If I hit F5 it will disappear. Can anyone help me restructure my
files? HELP.

Default Re: Duplicate files on desktop

i don't think there
is an automatic fix
for your issue. if it
is just a logical method
to address the issue then
you can use the file system
to modify your desktop and
user folders.

if you right' click on the
start button you will have
a number of options for
accessing the files and folders
that correlate to your desktop
and users.

the most important would
be the "desktop folder(s)"
having "shortcuts", of course.

as a suggestion any files in
the desktop folder that
are not shortcuts should be
relocated to a the program folders
or my documents or another.

afterwards you can then
create a shortcut to those files
or folders and place the shortcut in
you desktop folder so they will
appear on your desktop.

it's a bit tedious but
sometimes a simple slip and click
of the mouse can inadvertently
rearrange your file system.

have fun & g.l....!
