Not sure if this is a Win XP Home SP3 problem, or a problem with the CD/DVD
drive itself. I am only discussing games discs at the moment - as they are the only ones that have autostart files included in them. If I insert any games CD in the drive, it will autorun every time. If I insert any games DVD in the drive, it will never autorun. I have to manually use the Run command to start it up. This includes both installation from a disc, or starting off the game once installed. I know that the autorun feature can be turned off in XP, but as far as I know it is not selectable between CDs and DVDs. Is there something I have to do in the OS, or should I be looking into replacing my CD/DVD drive? TIA Martin. |
