Default windows search questions

3 Questions on Windows Search 4.0:
1. When I click on the icon/link to start Windows Search it always starts as
a normal size window, regardless of whether I have selected minimized,
maximized, or normal. Is this a known bug in 4.0?

2. Does not Windows Search have to be loaded at startup for it to be indexing?

3. I don't find any button to check the version number or ask it to look
for updates. I could only find the v4.0 by going to add/remove programs. Is
this missing or have I overlooked it?

Thank you.
