Hello,
When trying to start using Safe Mode by pressing F8 I get to a black screen with just Windows XP Home listed. Told to use up/down arrows to select OS! And a message at the bottom re using the F8 key... Cannot select the XP Home by pressing enter key and F8 does nothing so have to turn the PC off. How do I get into Safe Mode? Any ideas?! Cheers, Geoff |

To get into Safe mode, tap F8 right at Power On / Startup, and use UP arrow
key to get to Safe Mode from list of options, then hit ENTER. Notice, TAP, not press. -- Mad Mike "gcoxremovethis@freeuk.com" wrote: > Hello, > > When trying to start using Safe Mode by pressing F8 I get to a black > screen with just Windows XP Home listed. > > Told to use up/down arrows to select OS! Cheers, Geoff ================================= Put The Safe Mode Option On The Boot Menu. Rather than hitting the F8 button when you boot up in order to gain access to Safe Mode, why not add a Safe Mode option to the boot up menu. Then, when you boot your machine, you will have the option of booting directly into your operating system or, alternatively, booting directly into Safe Mode. http://obbtech.blogspot.com/2006/11/...n-on-boot.html -- Regards, Touch Base Report back on the results, good or bad so others may benefit "There's an old story about the person who wished his computer were as easy to use as his telephone.
