Hello,
Whilst trying to install XP SP3 on an XP Home PC I got the error - "Access denied". I am thinking of resetting the registry and file permissions as suggested by Microsoft at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949377 Does anyone have experience of this? What happens if all goes wrong? Say, the PC will not boot into XP? I will have created a restore point but how do I restore to this if the PC will not boot into XP? Thanks Geoff |

Yes, many times. Good results. > What happens if all goes wrong? Say, the PC will not boot into XP? This is not dangerous. This procedure is the correct answer http://www.winhelponline.com/blog/re...-in-windows-xp > I will have created a restore point but how do I restore to this if > the PC will not boot into XP? As there is no problem with that prodecure this is still a good question.
