Thanks. You were right. There was some difficulty getting into boot manager - I had several attempts. For a reason I cannot explaint, LS-120 was first choice. I do not know why. I have never had an LS-120 (was that the higher capacity floppy?) However, accepting that; I fail to understand why it should take all that time searching for something which is not there. In the old days when the floppy was the conventional first choice it took a second or so to check for floppy and then go to next preference (usually hard disk) Thanks to all who tried to help.
