My laptop has several drives mapped to specific letters. When I plug in my
thunb drive, it always identifies it as G:. One of our hardware guys set this p for me, but I do not rememebr how he did it. I just plugged in a different thumb drive to try to load a file onto my laptop, and the drive does not show up in "My Computer". I think this is because I have other drives mapped as D: E: F: and G:. I can see the thumb drive in Device Manager, but I can't see a way to specify which drive letter to use. Can anyone help me out here? How can I explore this thumb drive? Thanks! |

In any event, you may want to read: "New drive or mapped network drive not available in Windows Explorer" <http://support.microsoft.com/kb/297694> To answer your question, you should be able to set a drive letter using the Disk Manager: Right-Click "My Computer" -> Manage -> Storage -> Disk Management. Right-Click on drive -> Change Drive Letter & Paths... HTH, John |

That was exactly what my IT guy showed me in the past. Thank you so much!
