Default pdf files

I accidentally and stupidly opened a pdf file with notepad. As the little
box disappeared off my screen, I saw that a checkmark was in the "always open
this type of file with this progrqam". Of course, it doesn't show anything
except gobble-de-gook. How can I stop the pdf files from opening in Notepad?
Please help.

The simplest way is to re-install Acrobat Reader.

click on my computer>
folder options>file types

the pdf extension will
be listed and if you modify
it, you can reassign it
from notepad to the
pdf reader.

Right click on a pdf file and choose "open with". You'll get that same box
again. Choose acrobat reader and check the box to always use that program.

While holding down the shift key, right click on the file and select 'Open
With...' from the menu. You can now select Adobe Reader as the application
to open the file with and make sure the 'Allways use the selected program
.... ' box is ticked. Click 'OK'.
