In my Windows XP system event log, I see an error at every boot up saying:
"The USB Flatbed Scanner service failed to start due to the following error: The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it." Source: Service Control Manage Event ID: 7000 I do not have a USB Flatbed Scanner. There is no "USB Flatbed Scanner" service listed in the Services list. Searching with Google has not revealed anything useful. Could this startup error have any adverse effect (like making Windows slower to boot) and if so, is there any way I stop this. Eddy. |

Maybe update the chipset installation utility for youre MB chipset, get from
mfg (intel/amd/etc),then,open device mgr, scroll to system devices, expand the USB tree,R.click the controller(s) one at a time, select update drivers.... Thanks for the suggestions. I have installed latest chipset drivers for my MB. I have also tried individually updating the USB controllers as you suggested, but it says I already have the most recent drivers. A BIOS update was available, but only to resolve an issue with resuming from suspend mode. As I don't have that problem I am wary of updating the BIOS, as the last time I tried to update the BIOS of a PC it turned into an unbootable brick. Eddy. |

Do you happen to have a printer? Is it an "All in One" model? |

Have you checked for an updated drivers. |
