Appologies if this has already been answered but I've looked everywhere and
can't find an answer. I have lost the 'information bubble' that appears on the taskbar when, for instance you go to 'safely remove hardware' there is a 'pop' sound and a 'bubble' appears saying that is is safe to remove drive X. That is just an example but I get the same symptom with everthing like that. I get the sound but no text. I don't remember when this happened and I can't remember it happening before. I am running XP SP2. Please can someone help. |

See if this helps:
Suggestions: 1. Go to Start/All Programs: Hover over any program listed, right click and select Sort by Name. Repeat once more. 2. Right-click the Taskbar/Properties, uncheck: Keep the taskbar on top of other windows, apply/ok... Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d...powertoys.mspx Direct Download of TweakUI http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...ertoySetup.exe Once the program is installed, go to Start -> All Programs -> Powertoys for Windows XP -> TweakUI. In TweakUI, click on Taskbar and Start Menu. In the right hand pane, put a check mark in the box next to "Enable balloon tips". Click OK. 2. Run the script on line 11, left hand column from this web site. Courtesy of Kelly Theriot, MS-MVP Enable/Disable Balloon Tips http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm Good luck Nepatsfan |
