I have no idea how this happened... I tried to attach an external USB HD and it failed.. nothing happened. The System event log listed two errors, several times each, |

I have no idea how this happened...
I tried to attach an external USB HD and it failed.. nothing happened. The System event log listed two errors, several times each, both were timeouts. One was for the "dmserver service," and the other was for the "ShellHWDetection service." I can't find dmserver in the list of services, but the ShellHWDetection service shows as present and set to Automatic. How might I fix this? Thanks, Jason -- reverse my name in email address |
