Default Playing Streaming Video in Windows Media Player 11

Dear Sir.

My comp. specs: 1gig RAM, 220gig hard drive spare, XP Home, fully legal! And
Windows Media Player 11.

It plays small videos fine - I can go to YouTube etc. and play the lot. But
if I go to a streaming site like WorldMade Channel, I can't play the TV
stream. The individual videos, yes. No problem. The actual TV stream - no. I
get the Windows Media Player logo, nothing else.

Any ideas, anyone?

Crosspost to microsoft.public.multimedia.windows.mediaplayer . Or try VLC
media player instead : http://www.videolan.org/ .

Default Re: Using VLC for Streaming Video

Dear Allan.

Thankyou for the heads up on VLC - I confess I had never heard of it before
you told me about it. But it all seems to be for downloaded videos.

I'm sorry I'm such a dumbass with these things which'll probably be so
obvious to you - how do you make VLC play STREAMING video, like online TV?
It'll play videos from Google fine, but you do have to rip 'em off the site
first - I can't find a way to make them play via VLC online. And again, I
can't see how to make it play online TV - shall we play 'spot the idiot' at
this point!?!

Chris

Download the documentation "Play How-to" .pdf file from here :
http://www.videolan.org/doc/ . Look in Chapter 3, page 13 for setting up
streaming video.
