I recently played a film Terminator by Arnold Sch-----r unfortunately it has
installed itself on my C: drive as "CD drive F". I cannot delete this drive. In control panel, disk management I cannot delete the "partition", it shows there as a basic partition but the provision to reformat is greyed out and the partition cannot be deleted. In MY Computer the facility to "format" is also greyed out. I have tried to use the Windows XP Installation CD to delete the basic partition but it does not show up only the C: drive (at a reduced capacity) shows. I am at a loss. Can anybody enlighten me? Regards Popsey. |

Do you have software that creates a "virtual drive" ( see here
http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=...+software&meta )? Some programs can insert files into a virtual drive and run them as though they were being run from a physical CD or DVD drive emulating a physical drive. Try right clicking the "F" drive and select eject from the drop down menu. That should release the movie. Check to see if the Properties for this drive tells you which program it was created by. If you don't want to use it these program have an option for removing the drive. Personally I use a virtual drive a lot. It is handy for .ISO files and much faster than a physical drive. -- Xandros "Popsey" <troodetas@bigpond.nospam.com> wrote in message news:Oy0SCNLKIHA.5860@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... >I recently played a film Terminator by Arnold Sch-----r unfortunately it >has installed itself on my C: drive as "CD drive F". Thanks Xandros
No that didnt work. I dont know that it is acyually a virtual drive. It shows everyware as a CD drive but Disk management in XPs control panel shows it as a basic partition in the top panel and in the bottom panel as a drive CD-ROM2. So what it actually is I dont know. Any help is greatly appreciated.
