I have a simple P2P setup i.e. an eternet cable between 2 PCs to allow ICS.
I would like to set up printer sharing but the one PC does not *see* the printer connected on the other - even though the printer has been set for sharing. Can this be done an a P2P configuration or do I need to install a workgroup? TIA Polly |

Polly,
You should post your question to the experts in a networking newsgroup, such as microsoft.public.windowsxp.network_web. Be prepared to provide a lot more information, such as whether you using a crossover cable, configuration of network settings of both systems, what firewalls are being used, do you have dial-up or broadband access, etc. There's a security issue if you allow File and Printer sharing on an Internet connection. If someone suggests setting up a router instead of what you now have, it's probably a good idea. Here's a link to a lot of good networking information on this subject: http://www.homenethelp.com/connection-sharing.asp Good luck!
