Start > Run: Regedit. Navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall
and see if there are any entries. Use the System Restore tool anyway and
scan the system for malware.

Darn. Maybe someday I'll learn to consistently read the subject line. I
doubt it, though. Good habits last until you go to sleep. Bad habits last
forever.

I read newsgroup messages by keeping my eyes fixed on the reading pane
as I scroll down through the list of messages. Most often, I don't
even see the subject line at all.

I suspect that many, if not most, of us do something similar, and
that's one of the reasons I urge people not to put important
information about their problem into the subject line (or if they do,
at least repeat it in the body of the message). It's just too easy to
miss it if it's only in the subject line.

I could not agree more, Ken. Details should always be part of the message
body rather than being part of the subject line.

Dear d-d,

What entries are you talking about..?
on the left, there are about 200 of them...under uninstall...some
start with {, while others are with the names of the programs....
on the right there are corresponding values for them....
