Just upgraded from XP To Vista Home Premium and now I'm unable to recover
my back up from my Que External HD. When I try to use my Back Up and Restore Program, I click the restore feature and all the buttons are grayed out and I'm unable to choose any option to recover my Data files back onto my C: drive. I also looked under Properties on the File that I'm trying to restore and it says ( Windows Shell Common Dll ) is required to open this file? When I Upgraded I just used Windows XP back up program and now after the upgrade Vista Back Up program will not allow me to restore my files. Need to recover 20 Gig's of Music and Photographs and need some help !!! I don't know what this Shell program is and where to get it to restore my files back onto my Media Center. Any help is greatly appreciated. Regards, Dean J. |

Hello Dean,
If you used Windows NT Backup under XP, you will need this: Windows NT Backup - Restore Utility http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en -- Jane, not plain 64 bit enabled :-)Batteries not included. Braincell on vacation ;-) MVP - Windows Shell/User "Dean Johnson" <D.johns6@verizon.net> wrote in message news:E41093A2-17CE-4F38-B107-96E91BF5C11E@microsoft.com... > Just upgraded from XP To Vista Home Premium and now I'm unable to recover > my back up from my Que External HD.
