I use Windows Vista for Business and this system application takes a lot of
dual CPU time (50-60%) after my computer boots. Or about 15-20 minutes after my desktop appears and all services and processes are loaded. This really slows things down until SearchIndexer is done doing its thing. I have an AMD dual core 4400 CPU & 2GB of RAM, and it keeps both cores busy and consequently, my system is as slow as molasses in January..! Help! Any Advice? Thanks in advance! |

Hi James, You can disable the Search Index, and Vista will default to the non-indexed Search. This will search through everything, but you will not have it hogging up your resources. http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/69...e-disable.html Here are some other tips that will help speed up Vista. You can just pick and use the ones you want to. http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/81...nce-vista.html Hope this helps, Shawn -- brink *There are no dumb questions, just the people that do not ask them.* _http://www.Vistax64.com (\"http://www.Vistax64.com\")_ *Please post feedback to help others.* |
