Default Work Offline Tick

I'm new to Windows Vista and not extremely good with computers but I seem to
keep having a problem with the Work Offline option being ticked in both
Windows Mail and Windows Internet explorer, nearly every time I turn the pc
on and try to use either of them it tells me i'm offline and then I find that
the Work Offline tick is back on. What am I doing wrong and how do I get rid
of it??

You could try this. Go to Internet Explorer > Tools > Options, and, on the Connections tab, click on Lan Settings. Un-check
"Automatically Detect Settings", if it's checked. (Click OK, then Apply, OK, to close all the dialogs).

I'm hoping someone can advise: I keep having the same problem as above
with "Work Offline" randomly getting checked. I unchecked "Automatically
Detect Settings" under Connections/Lan Settings, but it is still
happening. There seems to be no pattern, but it happens very frequently.
I have Vista Home Premium 32, and this is the only computer in the
household that has ever had this problem, so I know it has something to
do with Vista, I just don't know what. (Our other computers are XPs and
MAC.)
