I've looked at other threads related to using a screensaver with dual monitors. I'm on another planet, I guess. For months, when the screensaver kicked in Vista 64 would black out monitor #2 and display my pictures on monitor #1. Perfect! Unlike all other threads I've seen, that's just fine by me. But I recently changed motherboards. Vista 64 required me to re-install a few things, including video driver. Now, the screensaver displays one photo split 50/50 between my two different-sized monitors. I'd be DELIGHTED to get back to the behaviour everyone else complains about: photo showing in its entirety on monitor #1, nothing on #2. Can anyone help? (I know about Ultramon). Thanks in advance. -- boyscout |

Sounds like you have the desktop stretched over both displays rather
then having them act as independent displays. Check your configuration. Sorken, thanks, I *do* have "Extend the desktop onto this monitor" enabled in Vista display settings for the second monitor. It gets enabled when I click it on (obviously!) and also when I use the NVidia software to enable dual monitors. The NVidia software - latest driver package - again only allows me to use, or not use, the second display. (It won't even let me decide which is on which side. I have to go to Vista to set my second display to the left side rather than the default right side, which is something ELSE that was easy when I first set up this system a few months ago.) I have just one video adapter, a two-port NVidia GTS 512, so yes, both "adapters" are just as they were when all worked well. Any further ideas gratefully accepted. -- boyscout |
