I out of luck for installing these programs? If not, how do I install them
to work properly?

If they won't install in one of Vista's compatibility modes, you'll
most likely have to replace them with more modern applications. After
all, these are 11 years old; that's roughly 5 generations, in computer
terms.

Have you tried installing them in Compatibility Mode? If not, look in
Vista's Help & Support for how to try this. If that doesn't work, you can
try installing them as Administrator by right-clicking on the installer
executable and choosing "run as Administrator".

If none of that works, I'm sorry but you'll need to update to a current
version of the program that the mftr. says will work in Vista.

Vicky, I was able to install and run an even older program, Micrograhix
Windows Draw, in Vista. Don't remember if I had to use the Compatibility
mode or not, but you should give it a try. I did have to download a file
from Microsoft to enable the older format help files to run.
