I am being prompted to install this update, but my computer will not install it. It sends me an error Code 643. Has anyone else had this issue after upgrading

Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework, Version 1.1 Service

I am being prompted to install this update, but my computer will not install
it. It sends me an error Code 643. Has anyone else had this issue after
upgrading your system to Vista. If so what do I need to do?

Dixie,

You can try installing the update from Microsoft's website instead of
using Windows Update, or try installing the update using the system's
Administrator account. If that is not successful you can try a "clean" boot.
One of these should work for you. But then again, you may need to only delete
the corrupted update files and/or disable and reenable Windows Update before
trying the other options as this may be all that is necessary.

To the best of my knowledge Vista has no dependencies on .Net Framework
1.1 as it is only needed for certain outside programs. If all your programs
are running properly you don't need 1.1 or the update. I could be wrong about
this point. If so I'm sure someone will correct me.

Have a nice day.
