Default CD drivers not working

I don't know what I did but can't get my cd's to play, I keep getting a code
37 when I try to enable the driver. Some how I disabled the driver/drivers. I
tryed the trouble shooting guide but it won't work because of code 37.

Sandy,

Please read this and provide more information:
http://dts-l.com/goodpost.htm

IF this is XP, read on. IF *not*, please post back with more information.

Explanation of error codes generated by Device Manager in Microsoft
Windows XP Professional [also applies to XP Home]
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310123

> Code 37
> Windows cannot initialize the device driver for this hardware. (Code 37)

Access Device Manager by opening the Control Panel
Open the System applet
Click the Hardware tab
Click the Device Manager button
Click the plus sign next to ' DVD/CD-ROM Drives'
The problematic CD should now be showing
Double click it, then click the Driver tab
Now click the UNINSTALL button
Agree to the prompts
When the CD-ROM has been uninstalled, click 'Action' on the menu bar at
the top of the Device Manager window and then click
'Scan for hardware changes'
The CD-ROM will be detected and the system will attempt to reinstall the
most recentdrivers.
