My Tecra 9100 has also lost sound as a result of a the Microsoft SP2
Update.. I've read all that I can find online about this issue, but
have not come across something with a successful resolution, or "fix,"
to the problem.

Were you or anybody else able to resolve this sound driver issue ? if
so, please do tell...

Although Toshiba's support page for the Tecra 9100 states:
