Default Odd password issue

Running Windows 2000 Advanced Server.

We have encountered a very odd password situation. When logging into the
server (the domain controller) as administrator the password must be
entered in all caps. When logging into a workstation as administrator
the password can be entered normally and does not need to be entered in
all caps. Neither administrator has done anything with password
functions. It is almost as if the login prompt for the DC is confused
about the caps lock being on. This situation occurs when sitting in
front of the server's keyboard as well as with remote VNC connections.
Because of this fact we do not suspect a flaky keyboard on the server.
Does anyone have any idea of what is going on?

Suddenly, as I was about to post this, the password situation seems to
have cleared itself up. Very odd.

Default Re: Odd password issue

Hello Shawn,

Maybe someone reset the password to the old one with caps lock on and at
the same time you logon to the client with the "old" one? Never heard about
a problem like yours.

Best regards
