Default Run an application via file type association but inherited short name

In window explorer, when I click on a file, it will run the
application associated with the file type.

In the file type, I set it as
application.exe "%1"

Normally, it would inherit the full path (including spaces). However,
for one application, it inherited the short name instead. I wonder
why ? It it due to the application or my settings in file type ?

Thanks for your help in advance.
